Winter in the Alps is unthinkable without the air of Advent.
When it gets dark in the late afternoon the many lights of the Meran Christmas fair illuminate the Kurpromenade. The scent of Christmas biscuits and mulled wine, the soft sound of Christmas carrols fill the air.
But winter also means fun in the snow for skiers and snowboarders. Meran 2000 is not far at all: A few minutes by car will take you to the valley station of the wonderful ski area with runs of all degrees of difficulty... plus, there is an excellent ski school.
